Reporting to the President & CEO, the Manager, Finance & Accounting is responsible for leading BCM’s accounting and finance activities, driving the development of financial strategies and metrics, establishing strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will oversee the planning and budgeting process, financial reporting and analysis, payroll, and AR/AP functions.

In addition, the incumbent will be responsible to:

  • Direct and manage the finance & accounting team, provide leadership, technical guidance, workflow distribution and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, financial projections, forecasts, and analysis
  • Provide strategic analysis, interpreting results to drive improved decision making insights and capabilities ∙ Maintain collaborative business relationships with external auditors, actuary, regulators and our reinsurance partner
  • Manage internal controls in an IFRS17 environment, deliver timely tax filings and ensure FSRA compliance ∙ Identify and advance projects for continuous improvement, facilitating the implementation of improved financial processes and efficiencies


  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
  • 3+ years accounting & finance supervisory experience, ideally in the insurance industry ∙ 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Experience working with Guidewire is an asset
